Prototype 2 Build 0005


This will be the last prototype. The next stage is a more complete Demo.

Changes in this build include:

  • Save and Load games. Please note that games saved in this version will not be forward compatible (due to planned refactoring). NOTE: On Loading a game, any droids that are not in Barracks will need re-assigning to tasks (that is, they will all be Idle). Part of the reason for future re-factoring is to make it possible to properly restore droid states on loading a game.
  • Screen shot taken on Save. If you want a nice view of your base, compose your view then save the game. Then find the saved PNG in your user data directory and copy it for safe keeping. The screenshot is a 1000px square from the middle of the viewport.
  • A complete set of Objectives to allow you to fulfill your first Contract with the Despai Corporation.
  • Droids automatically return to barracks (for recharge and repair) when they are low on battery power and/or health.
  • A greatly improved building placement mechanism, preventing overlaps, etc. A "ghost" wireframe is shown when a building location is blocked.
  • A complete set of basic buildings (all created in Blender, like all the other 3D assests, for those that might be curious about such things). Plus lights on the front of each building.
  • Full building construction mechanic, where you can only build something if the pre-requisite building type is already in your base and your droids have to deliver the right resources for each building type. This will undergo further improvements in future.
  • Warnings in the Notification panel about the effects of high and low temperatures (as requested by itch user @hythrain).
  • Improved Day/Night cycle, which actually works properly now.
